You know what? I think what you need to do is accentuate your skin tone by coloring your hair a shade (maybe even two) darker than it is. Incorporate your pallor into a look that says "check me out. I make 'pale' look sexy." Blue eyes and darker hair can create a very striking look on pale skin. Or any skin shade for that matter.
But, if what you really want is tanned skin I would recommend going to a professional or a very experienced friend for your first fake-tan treatment. It's so easy to end up orange or streaky if you don't have a handle on the process.
And finally, remember that the features we hate about ourselves when we are teens (are you a teenager?) very often end up being our favorite feature as we get older. Angelina used to hate her lips. J-lo used to hate her bum. etc. etc. etc.

Why do people think they need to be tan to be attractive?! I think pale skin is beautiful and so much healthier than risking skin cancer to be tanned. You probably won't tan well anyway, you'll probably burn. If you really want to have a tan then invest in a good fake one, Garnier have a spray one I think, as do L'Oreal.

i think any one looks better with a tan.just get some lotion that graduly gives u a tan, that way u look more tan and NOT ORANGE! lol there is nothing worse then turing orange. or when u r in the sun just use tanning sun block! it protects u but still gives u a tan

Pale skin is much better if that's your natural color. You have the same coloring as Snow White, the fairest in all the land... I too have nearly colorless, opaque skin, so many of the blue veins all over my body are visible. It used to bother me, but after reading about what the sun does to your skin (causes 70% of wrinkles, cancer, breaks down collagen), I decided that pale was healthier. And some guys are really into that pale, smooth skin. When I want to wear a dress or something sleeveless, I use a body lotion with the 'hint of sun'-type stuff in Light for a few days beforehand. It's not a tan, but it's like having makeup on your body, to cover the veins etc. The better you stay out of the sun, the younger your skin will look. I'm 28 and just tuesday a cashier asked me if I was 20, so it must be working! One trick for the face to perk up is to wear a bit of sheer pink blush every day. Not shimmer, try a gel stick like Tarte. It really makes a difference. Nowadays I use blush, mascara, and rosy gloss, maybe a little concealer on pimples or undereyes. That's it! I let my skin show. My husband loves that look.
