Ok so i have dark brown hair. Right now i have blonde hair underneath with some greenish-blue streaks underneath as well. I want my hair to have pink streaks. I have already tried 3 times but it fads within an hour! HELP!

hit a salon and have them get it back to blonde and then put some hot pink extensions in...its less expensive then all the dye and you can change it if you'd like also it doesn't ruin your hair...extensions are easy enough to be put by yourself....

you should try loreal its called "flash *******" but it comes out pink...this it what i use and it works great shows up on even the darkest hair...my sister also used it and she has really light blond hair and it came out really nice...it does fade a little faster on lighter hair though you can get it at CVS walgreens or walmart places like that

I too have dark brown hair, yet I have dyed my hair bright pink (and every other color) many times over the past six years.

I'm not sure of what dye brand you have been using, but I recommend a brand called Special Effects above all else. The "Atomic Pink" and "Cherry Bomb" shades worked particularly well for me. Cherry Bomb is probably better because although it starts out a bit more red, it lasts much longer and gradually fades into a lighter and lighter solid pink color.

I don't recommend trying to use any "one-step" products. Bleach whatever part of your hair you want to color first, then use the Special Effects dye.

You can also buy one of those dye bottles and take it to your hairdresser if you want them to give it a go. I got one of my guys at the hair shop to do it for me before.

Ok heres the thing, the reason your "fantasy pink hair" isnt working is because your hair is to dark for that color, in order to have the pink you have to dye the bottom half a bright bleach blonde or and light blonde, then you buy pink dye, dye it and wala.

if it will not keep the color, then your hair sounds like it's been over processed. when hair is colored it is actually damaged. in a healthy cuticle the scales lie flat, overlap, creating a smooth surface. in a damaged hair, the scales on a damaged cuticle are cracked and splayed, the hair is dry and brittle. the surface loses its shine and becomes susceptible to further damage, which will continue to exist and increase unless a proper hair regimen is used to fix the damage. when the cuticle is too splayed out your hair cannot hold the color. baby it for a month or 2 with leave in treatments, deep conditioners or hair masques and prob give it a try again with maybe 10 vol, but more likely 20 vol developer to minimize damage. good luck, hon and yea you might wanna talk to a pro. i get all my stuff at sally's beauty supply, its way better than 'color-in-a-box' as far as customization and most of the staff there is more experienced than a stylist.
